Aug. 30th, 2004 09:02 pmUnfortunately, when I got the XBox plugged in, I discovered it was broken. Phoned the Microsoft helpline, explained the symptoms and they advised me the unit was toast and to take it back.
Gosh, aren't I forgetful.... when I returned it, I forgot to include the controller, so I "gained" a spare cause they just gave me a complete box. At £30 each I consider that compensation for having to lug it back to the shops.
The Richard Burns Rally game is VERY impressive. The physics of the car are great, and the visuals are really impressive. The biggest disapointment is the sound effects
I tried cranking the realism up to maximum and managed to last 34 seconds before the car was wrapped around a tree - seems about right to me.
I do like the way they sampled Richard and Roberts screams from their crash in San Remo - adds an extra touch of realism :)
