Just been reading about Matt & Scotts accident.
I'd heard they'd had a bit of a bump on the BRC Rally Of Wales but didn't think anything more of it.
Was in WHSmiths today and picked up a magazine... I really didn't need to see the pictures.
Matt's a skinny runt, and I didn't realise there was enough of a knee to be able to break into six parts.
The description of Scotts first three operations on his shattered legs was a bit icky.
Diagrams of the plates they'll use to rebuild Matts arms were interesting though.
I did chuckle at the part where his team manager complained that it was Matts own fault for getting injured...
"If you're going to crash into a tree at 120mph then make sure the impact is on your navigators side - thats what Scott is there for"
Well, my diet is still recovering from the last few weeks worth of over induldgence.
A night out with H and some of the guys from work set the tone for the week - lots of wine and really tasty food at an "all you can eat" Jimmy Spices, and mmmmm was it tasty. Things really went to pot when I discovered that all you can eat included chocolate cake and strawberries.
My birthday was a bit of a blow out - ho hum, nothing new there then.
Had a decent get together over the bank holiday.
Steve (Sanguineus) came up on Friday so along with Lin/Leo , Steph and Rob we all went out for a meal at the carvery and then back to my place for more wine and ice cream.
Saturday was a wander around the city centre and then all head over to the HuglyHouse to meet up with Mark & Anne , Karen and Joolz and Kris
My mood on Sunday took a downward swing as I mentioned before due to Stans death
After coffee with Rob, I met up with Leo, Joolz Phil and Kriss at The Academy for a punk extravaganza
I enjoyed the first few acts, but they were more Ska based than punk, even so, they still need to work on their attitude - "fuckin' yeah, goooood evening Birmingham" was ruined by the "ooh, frightfully sorry, I meant good afternoon"
Mind you, the audience didn't help. I swear there was more people drinking lowfat skinny decaf latte than there were drinking pints of Stella.
On my way out of the venue I was shoulder barged by some spikey haired ear/lip/nose/eyebrow pierced girl who again ruined the image by turning round and appologising to me before rushing over to join her brother Tarquin with their mummy and daddy who was helping pick out offensive T-Shirts for them. YEAH, Very anarchistic
As the planned bowling / cinema trip was cancelled, and as I was feeling a bit down, I felt like needing to do something more up than just watching DVDs with Steph and Steve, so I managed to drag out my non-internet friends for more wine and a trip to a Tapas bar
Monday meant that Steve was heading back down to London, but not before a trip to the pub for a decent lunch and a few pints of cider.
Sadly, after all the fun of a long weekend, it was back to work on Tuesday, but as I'm sure you'd hate to see me break down and cry I'm not going to bother explaining what that was like.
