(no subject)

Wow, talk about TV channel hoping.
This morning I had Katie Lee , Amanda Hamilton and Charlotte Hawkins on different channels all at the same time.
If Sarah-Jane Mee had been on^*1 too I think I'd have exploded in geeky fanboy excitement ;)

I think I've settled on which bike to get.
I was going to go for the Specialized Rockhopper but a lot of reports seem to say it's a bit twitchy over rough ground. As I'm a bit of a fat bastard, it's going to be a handful as it is, so as much as I like the Specialized brand, I think it's a no-no.
Instead I've settled on the Genesis Core2.0 (again, a hardtail)

• front fork by Marzocchi - (but it's only the MZ Super Comp)


• shifters, f/r derailleur, chainset, brackets and freewheel by Shimano


• Alex rims


• Shimano brakes

Hopefully I should pick one up around late Feb / March time depending on when I get paid.

Things are still looking bad for the Spain mountain trip :(
At this rate, I can see myself spending 10days stuck indoors reading and getting the earlier flight home.
