The invasion begins...
Jul. 2nd, 2007 11:58 amI always said that people who studied Oceanography were a bunch of quacks!
In the early 90's a container was washed off a transport ship in the pacific ocean.
Almost 30,000 rubber ducks were released during this accident, and for the last 15 years these little duckies have been helping oceanographers track tidal patterns as they washed up on Japan, Alaska, Russia and parts of US East coast.
But now things have changed. The flotilla of rubber duckies is heading our way.
Personally, I think I'd rather keep it if I were lucky to find one washed up on our shores, after all Ellen MacArthur sobbed her eyes out crossing the Pacific Ocean and she had the yacht Kingfisher to protect her but those little guys have travelled 17,000 miles, survived frozen ice packs of the Artic and skirted the United States Eastern seaboard !
They came to our shores for a reason, and I think we should let them stay (just don't tell the Daily Mail that more immigrants are arriving)
The Ocean Surface Currents Simulation has been logging the recovery sites as they reach land and it all helps to understand our oceans heartbeats.
See - I keep telling you my Geoplanetary course kicks arse but you never listen to me do you.

we shall fight on the beaches,More likely, we'll flog them on eBay as collectors are paying $500 per duck for genuine confirmed examples.
we shall fight on the landing grounds,
we shall fight in thefieldsestuaries.
