Jan. 2nd, 2008 10:36 pmThanks to everyone for the messages, the funeral was about as good as these things can be.
To make things even more fun, Virgin didn't have a West Coast train service today so I had to hop across town to find alternative travel.
This meant plenty of time to sit and think about things. I thought I'd be more upset, especially with it being this time of year, but I've got all those amazing memories of Christmas and New Years as a child spent with the most wonderful family, so although everyone from those memories has now gone, I still feel incredibly privilaged to have had times that were worth remembering.
This evening hasn't seen much of an increase in the fun factor.
The tapas bar was packed so unlike normal when Abuela Catalina is happy to chat for hours, tonight I was shoved in a corner and I'd not even scooped up the last mouthful when the waitress was there with the bill and a cloth to clean the table.
Oh well, I'll go for a nice walk to clear my head... Well, that's what I thought until I walked out the B&B, watched the crime scene tape being wrapped around the carpark opposite, spotted the scene of crime officers getting all excited about the spreading pool of blood, and decided to stay in.
Oh well, I got two really great books for Christmas so I guess this gives me a good excuse to go read (or look at the pictures)
